The Life Safety Alliance Top 40 Global Thought Leaders in Security & Life Safety program annually recognizes the most prolific and accomplished professionals advancing the fields of Security & Life Safety worldwide.

Launched in 2024, this distinguished program aims to enhance objectivity, transparency, and rigor in recognizing industry influencers. It relies on measurable and verifiable criteria such as published articles, speaking engagements, teaching roles, social media activity, volunteer leadership positions, and other quantifiable metrics. We believe that these criteria reflect true thought leadership in our industry and profession. Each candidate earns points across more than 15 categories, with a proprietary algorithm calculating total scores. The top 40 scorers are honored as the year's thought leaders, representing diverse sectors across the industry, including life safety, physical security, cybersecurity, front line,  crisis management, risk, intelligence, and related disciplines worldwide. There is no fee or cost to participate.v​

There's Still Time to Be Considered for 2026

If you haven't already registered for consideration in this year's program, there's still time to participate! Complete the form below to receive a secure spreadsheet where you can enter your accomplishments at your convenience. The spreadsheet covers achievements from May 1, 2025, through April 30, 2026. For 2026, we've added two new categories: Legislative or Regulatory Testimony, and Expert Witness. Instructions for using the spreadsheet will be provided after you register.
